East Falls Should Remain in 194th District

I am writing to urge you and your colleagues on the Redistricting Commission to adjust your preliminary plan so that the entirety of East Falls (part of the 38th Ward in Philadelphia) is included in St. Rep. Pam DeLissio's district. We have developed a valuable and productive relationship with Rep. DeLissio during her terms in office, and we believe it would be unnecessarily disruptive to lose that relationship. The Lower Northwest area Philadelphia is a community of interest and it would be appropriate for a new map to keep the entirety of the Lower Northwest in one legislative district. The map submitted at the end of October by Fair Districts PA to the Legislative Reapportionment Commission includes all of the Lower Northwest in one legislative district and reflects an ideal district for the citizens of East Falls. Also a small number of homes on the west side of School House Lane (Timber Lane, Apalogen Road, and Foxx Lane) are part of East Falls even though they currently are in the same legislative district as Roxborough. It would would make more sense to include them in the East Falls district. St. Rep. Pam DeLissio has invested time into getting to know our community and I believe that keeping East Falls within her representative district is in the best interest of the community.
