Redistricting the 194th District
I am writing to urge this Redistricting Commission to adjust your preliminary plan so that the entirety of East Falls (part of the 38th Ward in Philadelphia) is included in St. Rep. Pam DeLissio's district. The voters in East Falls have developed a valuable and productive relationship with Rep. DeLissio during her terms in office, and we believe that it would be an unneccessary disruption to lose that relationship. The lower Northwest area of Philadelphia is a community of interest and it would be reasonable and appropriate for a new map to keep the entirety of the lower Northwest in one legislative district. The map submitted at the end of October 2021 by Fair Districts PA to the Legislative Reapportionment Commission includes all of the Lower Northwest in one legislative district and reflects one ideal district for the entire community of East Falls. East Falls residents work together in this community and it would be inappropriate to divide this community by redistricting the way the preliminary plan proposes. Rep. DeLissio is one of the hardest working representatives in the Commonwealth and it would be a great loss to the voters of East Falls if we were to lose her representation in Harrisburg.
