I object to the preliminary redistricting map.
Adding Portland Boro and Upper Mt Bethel Township to the Western part of Monroe County is not permitting fair representation of those two communities and the other area of Monroe County. Monroe County and Northampton County consist of two separate groups of people with separate needs. Having the Bangor Area School District represented by two political reps is outlandish and will create havoc for the district. How will a representative understand the different needs of part of the Slate Belt and the Monroe County schools?? Much of the Monroe County area to be adjoined to Portland and UMBT, are fine folks from NJ and NY, with vastly different ideas than those living in Portland & UMBT. Oil and water. Keep the Northampton County communities together with like areas.
