Redistricting
Upper Mt Bethel and Portland should remain with Bangor and the Slate Belt. The new proposal would split the Bangor School Diatrict between to districts. That doesn’t make ANY SENSE. The Slate Belt communities work together on many projects & activities. There is a physical mountain between Portland/Mt Bethel and the Monroe County district. It’s not only physical but also social. The two areas operate in totally different spheres. The Slate Belt interacts and shops to the South, in the Nazareth/Easton area. Please use common sense and keep the Bangor schoolmDistrict intact and with the Slate Belt.
