Centre County State House Districts
Dear Reader, Centre County is a purple county. At the moment, it leans slightly Democratic in statewide and local elections. Yet only one of our four state house members is a Democrat (Scott Conklin) and he comes from a packed district that is shaped like a barbell. Ferguson Township which has State College postal addresses is cracking into three districts. If we were fairly districted, Centre County would be likely to send at least two Democrats to the State House. If it is necessary for State College Borough to be broken into two districts to be districted in a fair manner, I could live with that. Jesse L. Barlow, President, State College Borough Council
