Senate maps Lehigh Valley

To the Legislative redistricting Commission: I am unhappy about the current maps for new Senate districts in Lehigh Valley. The new maps are as severely gerrymandered as the previous maps. Neither party should be favored by gerrymandering District maps. Please correct the gerrymandered district boundaries so that residents of the Lehigh Valley can have fair, appropriate and equitable representation. Some examples of poorly drawn Districts that should be corrected: Lehigh County has been drawn so that most of it is in a new 18th Senate District in Berks County, which is very different from Lehigh County. This is an injustice! More Lehigh County municipalities should be added to the 14th Senate District. The western half of Bethlehem City is in Lehigh County and has historically been part of the 18th Senate District. Most of Bethlehem is in Northampton County. West Bethlehem should be moved from the 14th Senate District back into the 18th District. Allentown is being split up so that in the new map 14 Precincts – about 1/3 of its residents – will be removed and be added to the 18th Senate District. This is unacceptable. Allentown voters will be denied effective representation. The number of Allentown precincts lost should be greatly reduced.
