Principles over partisanship, please

Dear Sirs and Madams, I'm going to be honest: I tried looking at the proposed maps and it makes my head spin. I don't envy your job. As such, I am not writing about any particular district or line. Instead, I am writing to appeal to everyone involved: put principles first. Democrats and Republicans are not supposed to be mortal enemies. Redistricting should not be another tool we to bludgeon each other. Districts should look as much like their constituent communities as possible. Neighbors should not be in separate districts. These things shouldn't be controversial. Stick to the principles. Do what's constitutional, legal, and ethical. And after that, let the partisan chips fall where they may. Thank you.
