Exception to the proposed redistricting.
I am a member of the Perry County Economic Development Authority. First I would like to thank the Commission for keeping Perry County whole in the proposed redistricting. However, Although we like our neighboring Juniata County, Perry County has been tied to Cumberland County historically, commercially and politically. There is a large number of human services agencies including those dealing with mental health, children and youth, domestic violence, people with disabilities to name a few. Perry is part of Rabbittransit, Juniata is not. Perry is part of PennDOT District 8, Juniata is part of District 2. Perry and Cumberland Counties operate a joint Housing Authority. The two counties are part of different Intermediate Units for the school districts. The proposed redistricting is just not a natural fit, your reconsideration of this proposed redistricting will be greatly appreciated.
