Support for changes to 168th legislative district

My local representative is Chris Quinn, who has voiced opposition to the proposed changes to my district. While I understand Representative Quinn's personal opposition to this redistricting proposal, as it carves up his district into 3 different districts, his argument that residents should oppose it because it carves up the local school district makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If an issue of importance to parents in the school district were to come before the legislature, it would be much better to have 3 potential votes in support of the parents' interests rather than a single vote. Also, having smaller, more locally focused districts, the power and influence of each local township constituency is increased rather than diluted. Hence, I strongly support the proposed redistricting plan.
