Mayor Dan Daub, Mayor of Tower City, PA

As a lifelong resident of western Schuylkill County, and over a decade of service as Mayor of Tower City, I am writing to express my strong opinion that the 125th legislative district is best represented as a combination of communities in the western portion of Schuylkill County, as well as the communities of Northern Dauphin County. Tower City is currently in the heart of this district, and rightfully so. The economic, social and cultural relationships between Northern Dauphin County and western Schuylkill County are very evident to anyone who lives, works or visits the area. In fact, the Williams Valley School District of which of community is a part of, is composed of communities in both Schuylkill and Dauphin Counties. In our area and regional Little League tournaments, the communities of western Schuylkill County and Northern Dauphin county combine together to form the Upper Dauphin County Little League association. Our children develop lifelong friendships at an early age by interacting in the Northern Dauphin County YMCA, and many, many other community organizations. People in my community travel to Northern Dauphin county daily to complete grocery shopping, work in the businesses and patronize the restraurants of these “border communities” located in the less populated, rural communities that create western Schuylkill County and Northern Dauphin county. Everyone throughout our area visits the Gratz Crossroads Auction and Skyview Drive In Theater, as well as many other important businesses. Our school districts (Williams Valley, Tri-Valley, Pine Grove, Upper Dauphin and Millersburg/Halifax) have a long history of competition among them and have developed decades long admiration and respect for one another. The area is finally realizing some economic growth and opportunity, after decades of being split apart and treated differently by various levels of government. The small school district of Williams Valley at one time had portions represented by three different State Senators and three different State Representatives. We much prefer and believe we will have more success and opportunity when we have one representative in each legislative body as our advocate. As Mayor of Tower City, and a longtime community leader in various organizations in Schuylkill County, I strongly encourage that the 125th District continue to be a combination district between western Schuylkill County , for areas west of Pottsville, and include northern Dauphin County from Williamstown to Millersburg, including small Rush Township in the Williams Valley School district. Thank you for your consideration! Sincerely, Mayor Dan Daub 643 E. Grand Avenue Tower City, PA 17980 570-640-7569
