Unconstitutional Remapping
To Whom It May Concern, Thank you for the opportunity to express my concerns regarding the redistricting. I believe by the very title of Representative one assumes that the position is held by a person who indeed represents the community values, understands the culture(s), employment, industry, people, pain points and nuances of a particular district. For as long as I can remember David Zimmerman has been that person for the 99th District. He has been voted in by myself and the people of our district because through the electoral process of this nation and state, the people of the 99th district voted for him to act on our behalf. This should matter! The proposed redistricting will cause the New Holland area to lose its true only true representation. The 99th District will lose its population centers, our Plain communities will be marginalized and eventually ignored, and so will our values and life choices.. Our community is unique and to lump us in with sections of Berks County and 5 different school districts shows an insensitivity and misunderstanding at best of who we are and the importance we play in making PA what it has been. Frankly, it is fiscally irresponsible when you consider that people from all over the world come to visit and live among (GSV) the Amish and the surrounding county side of this area. This proposal to lump us in with an area that is not only geographically separate but socially separate shows a misunderstanding, disrespect and misrepresentation of who we are. Thank you, Yvette L.
