Unacceptable Split of Philadelphia's Hispanics

Dear Commissioners, As a Philadelphian examining the preliminary Senate map, I believe it does a poor job of representing the city's (and the state's!) fastest-growing community, namely Hispanics. The map splits the main area of Hispanic concentration among four separate Senate districts (1, 2, 3, and 5). The division basically ensures that Hispanics will never elect a state senator in the next decade. This is unconscionable and perhaps even open to legal challenge. Various citizen maps submitted to the Commission have done much better at keeping most of the Hispanic area together in a single district. Please reconsider and revise this portion of the Senate map.
