Mt. Gretna Borough, Lebanon County

The proposed House District 98 is Lancaster County based and takes into this District three municipalities in Lebanon County. These are South Londonderry and South Annville Townships and Mt. Gretna Borough. This proposed district is not good for those of us who live in SLT as our focus whether jobs, shopping, activities is west into Derry Township/Hershey . As a former PA House Member, I do understand that the LRC has a very difficult task which should have been undertaken through a constitutional revision of the redistricting process. Thus, I'm not asking for a major redrawing of the lines. However, Mt. Gretna Borough has less than 200 population. This is very wrongly placed in the 98th as Mt. Gretna is closely linked to W. Cornwall Township and Cornwall. This includes the Cornwall Lebanon School District and Cornwall Police Dept. There are many other connections including facilities - especially health care - in the City of Lebanon environs. Please redraw the 98th and the 101st to place the Borough in the 101st. The population for the 98th is 66,784 and 101st is 65, 422. I should also note that for a decade, since the last redistricting, East Hanover and N Annville Townships were sucked into a Dauphin County based House District and the residents were essentially ignored. The redrawing of District lines has returned these two townships to a Lebanon County District, 102. That is a positive. Another positive is the City of Lebanon is totally in one House District, the 101st. This should assure greater attention by the legislator who will represent the 101st.
