Pennsylvania senatorial redistricting

I am concerned about two aspects of the present proposal for the 9th senatorial district: 1. I am informed that the senatorial redistricting map favors incumbents. This is not OK! Incumbents and their challengers should be running for election on an equal footing. Times change, and it's important for the Pennsylvania Senate to change with them. That means giving both incumbents and challengers an equal chance. 2. I understand that districts in my part of the state (the southeast) contain many more voters than those in the central and southwestern parts of the state. This is not OK! For elections and legislatures to have credibility, each citizen's vote must count equally. I am a retired Latin teacher, and my study and teaching of Roman history makes me very aware of the role unequal districts played in destroying the Roman Republic. We can learn from the Romans' mistakes!
