Comment on PA 131 State Rep and PA 16 Senate

From: Clark Chandler 4481 Allegiant Street Center Valley, PA 18034 To: Legislative Redistricting Commission I normally do not worry about political details such as redistricting, trusting those responsible to work through this complex process in a fair way. However, the hash that you have made of the 16th PA State Senate district is troubling – see the picture below (sorry, it did not come through). The 16tjh district is going from a compact district to one that is stretches hither and yon and which is filled with holes. This appears to have been done to safeguard the current Republican state representative, since the share of Republican registered voters has increased from 35% in the district as configured before to 45% in the newly configured district. Your treatment of my Congressional district (the 131st) seems somewhat less egregious, but even here you seem to be going from a more to a less compact district, creating an odd indentation by cutting out Emmaus. I urge you to restore the 16th PA Senate district to its former compactness and boundaries, and to add Emmaus back to the 131st PA state representative district.
