Remove Splits: Allegheny, Etna, Aspinwall
GOOD: It’s nice to see my township of Shaler is no longer divided with part in HD21 and part in HD30. It is also nice to see Washington’s Landing in the same district as Millvale to support the river events held in that location and the growing cross-river community. IDEAS TO IMPROVE: This map can be improved by eliminating two splits as follows. Etna can be moved into HD21 so the Shaler Area School District is not divided. Moving Etna makes space for Aspinwall district 3 to move to HD33. Then Aspinwall will be entirely in HD33 rather than split. You can take Pittsburgh Ward 11, district 8 and/or 10 from HD21 and put in HD24 to even the populations out. Population moves from 24 to 33 Aspinwall, from 33 to 21 Etna and 21 to 24. I expect these local changes can be accommodated without disrupting the rest of the map. BEST: With these improvements municipalities and school districts will be whole while keeping the cross-river community and parks together.
