I agree with Amanda Holt's Exception 2 that the City of Pittsburgh is needlessly split into 3 State Senate districts when it need only be in 2. Ms. Holt's map to fix Exception 2 corrects the 3 splits into 2 by removing District 38 from the city and keeping it entirely in the northern part of Allegheny County. As a former resident of this area this makes sense. Areas like Avonworth and Northgate School district are linked to the other Northern areas. The City areas should be with other city areas. It makes no sense for 3 city wards to be combined with the northern suburbs. They are not in the same community of interest. I would ask the Commission to recognize Holt Exception 2 and use Holt's revision to fix this (map attached). This revision also moves Neville Island (~1,000 people) from District 42 to 37 to unify the Cornell School District.
