Save our representation

I've reviewed the redistricting plan for the House of Representatives 82nd district and am alarmed at what this will mean for residents of Juniata county. If the redistricting is approved as presented now, this will split Juniata County three ways. Juniata County has a common dynamic from one end to the other. The Juniata County School District represents the entire county. From one end to the other we are rural and like minded. Your plan would tack Fayette and Monroe Townships onto the Snyder/Union County district. This doesn't make sense as the industry, income, and economy and interests are very different from citizens of Selinsgrove and Lewisburg. The southern part of the county has little in common with Marysville and Duncannon. Most Fayette Township residents have a Mifflintown address. It doesn't make sense that their representation is split from like minded neighbors. Currently, whenever we need help with licensing or permits, we travel to Mifflintown to visit our representative's office. Under the new plan, residents of the eastern part of the county would have to travel an hour to MIfflinburg to visit our representative. In the southern part of the county we would have to travel across the Tuscarora Mountain to Perry or Cumberland County. It is just a bad idea to split up a county that is now one community with common interests in our children's schools, the county seat, and a district office that is centrally located to all of our residents.
