Exception for Municipalities in the 193rd

My name is Carrie Nace and I reside in Reading Township, Adams County and I am respectfully requesting an exception of moving Oxford Township, New Oxford Borough, Berwick Township, and Abbottstown Borough from the PA House 91st District in the preliminary House map and rejoining them with Reading and Hamilton Townships in the PA House 193rd District. Please know that I deeply respect the hard work that was put into the legislative maps, however, I feel strongly that in the best interests of the citizens in Adams County, these municipalities must be in the PA 193rd House District. Northeast Adams County is an area seeped in deep agricultural heritage that go back generations and therefore, an extremely close-knit community that benefits from being in the same House District. It makes little sense to break these agricultural areas into two different districts. Of particular concern is these municipalities share police, first responders, fire and EMS coverage as well as the area school districts. As a professional that both represents rural Pennsylvanians and Agricultural industries as well as being a member of the Adams County Economic Alliance Executive Committee, I see little sense in cutting constituents of Oxford Township, New Oxford Borough, Berwick Township, and Abbottstown Borough from the communities they most identify with, namely Hamilton and Reading Townships. Again, I know the difficulty in drawing legislative maps to reflect changing populations, I do believe that it is more logical to keep Straban Township with the 91st Legislative District to keep the township with the rest of the population of Gettysburg Area School District. This also would allow members of the Agricultural Community to have continuity with their representation in Harrisburg. I appreciate the opportunity to offer my opinion.
