2021 Reapportionment
A Resolution of the Borough Council of East Petersburg Borough to request placements of the (3) precincts in East Petersburg Borough with the State House District 41 in the 2021 Reapportionment. WHEREAS, the activities of the Borough of East Petersburg and its citizens are thoroughly intertwined with those of East Hempfield; and WHEREAS, East Petersburg students attend the Hempfield schools, and a Hempfield School District elementary school exists in our town; and WHEREAS, our sports, youth, and swimming activities participate with Hempfield residents and the Hempfield Area Recreation Commission; and WHEREAS, East Petersburg is part of the 41st district’s “natural constituency” and shares its issues, opportunities, and people. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the East Petersburg Borough Council does hereby respectfully request that in the upcoming reapportionment, the three voting precincts of East Petersburg Borough be returned to and included in Pennsylvania Legislative District 41; and Be it further RESOLVED that the Borough Council of East Petersburg Borough calls upon all those elected officials in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who represent the citizens of the Borough of East Petersburg to publicly announce their support of and commitment to work towards achieving the goal set forth in this resolution.
