Mifflin & Juniata Counties 82nd district

The Chamber and the Area Agency on Aging are two very important organizations in our two-county(Mifflin & Juniata) area who have worked diligently to develop their services offered to our residents, cooperating and incorporating both mainly rural areas, whose current 82nd representative knows well, having lived among the community. The proposed redistricting plan would put these communities and service providers at risk due to the lack of understanding the challenges (especially regarding public transportation and human services that support the senior population). To break up and divide something that already works well and is not broken, seems useless and inconsiderate of the people who work and live here. I suggest this be re-studied and re-vamped accordingly. When my husband and I started up, as owner /operators of a transportation business within Mifflin County, Juniata Valley Chamber was there for us, assisting and putting us on the map in many ways. I own a small business which has connected me to the Mifflin-Juniata AAA for the past 15 years--recording the minutes of their various entities Board meetings, has given me a first-hand view of the hard work and effort they employ in offering valuable and needed services to the elderly and persons-with-disabilities population. State College in Centre County is a mountain and valley apart from Mifflin County, not only geographically, but culturally, and in household financial status / income. I thank you for taking my comments into consideration and trust they will impact your final decision and plan.
