Proposed legislative maps

I am a resident of Clinton County. While I think that the process for the maps for the House have been fair and open, which I really appreciate, there are many counties are still gerrymandered. Our house seat, the 76th, includes parts of Centre County which is split up into four house seats, so that minimizes the bluest region in the central part of the state, and impacts the type of representation in Harrisburg. The new map begins to address some of these imbalances, making the state fairer, at least with regard to the House. I hope that the House maps are approved. It appears that the maps meet the four Constitutional requirements: compactness, contiguity, split minimization, and population equality. I agree with Chairman Nordenberg's choosing to review the population equality, since it is just under the permissible range.
