hummelstown

My wife and I were both shocked to learn of the plan to remove Hummelstown from its current home in the 106 district and move us to the 104 district with Steelton, Highspire and Harrisburg. We both graduated from Hershey High School and moved to Hummelstown and have been lived in Hummelstown and been members of the 106 district for 32 years. The thought of disconnecting us with our close partners in Derry Township is almost to much to comprehend. Please help me see how this could benefit either community? I own property in both towns and many residents of Hummelstown/Hershey consider the towns connected and help promote ideas that benefit both towns. Secondly, and most importantly we are opposed to removing our school district representation and connecting us with Harrisburg & Central Dauphin whom we have nothing in common and no communication. Hummelstown will lose any voice we now have and our shared community fabric - Hummelstown / Hershey will be forever broken. This is a bad idea for the residents of both communities and should NOT be allowed to move forward. We are both regular voters in every election and will hold those accountable at the ballot box. Keep Hummelstown in the 106 district!!! David & Rose Santeusanio
