Stop Harrisburg from splitting Bethlehem's municip
January 9, 2022 RE: Written PA citizen testimony in regards to stop Harrisburg from splitting Bethlehem’s municipality. Comment for the Legislative Reappointment Commission in Harrisburg, PA. Come up with a better redistricting map. My name is Liveria Jackson Rasmijn and I am both a US and Pennsylvania citizen. I have lived in Pennsylvania for thirty nine years and as a Pennsylvania citizenI am exercising my right to give a comment to the Legislative Reappointment Commission about making a better redistricting map and leave Allentown and Bethlehem municipalities as they currently are. I vehemently oppose the Harrisburg leaders’ proposal to merge parts of Allentown and Bethlehem into one municipality. I am against it because this move will weaken both cities, especially the school districts and Northhampton County. I demand a better map proposal where Allentown and Bethlehem stay as we currently are and do not break them into separate municipalities. Furthermore, The Constitution states that municipalities should not be broken unless absolutely necessary. There is no necessity to break up the two municipalities. In summation, come up with a better redistricting map where you do not break the current municipalities of Allentown and Bethlehem.
