Redistricting process

I have been a resident of Bethlehem, Pa all of my life. I have lived in West Bethlehem for 42 years and my children attended schools in the Bethlehem school district. Why would you split west Bethlehem, in Lehigh county and place them into the Allentown school district? That does not make sense. It disrupts the continuity of the school districts. If that would occur I think you will find people moving out of the West Bethlehem district. Bethlehem in my opinion has a much better school district than Allentown. This also pulls are already burdened teachers in too many directions. Education is important and should be consistent. I moved 7 years ago into the Lower Saucon school district, I still live in Bethlehem. Now I live in Northampton county. Again splitting up Hellertown, lower Saucon area into the Upper Saucon area is another town. Hellertown has a beautiful school system. Now you want to split kids up to Southern Lehigh school district? The Lehigh valley communities are tight knit communities and help one another, changing these districts will create havoc. In a time of a pandemic and so much uncertainty, especially with virtual and in class learning, these changes will only add to more problems and disarray. Please do not change any districts. Senator Boscola has done a great job in our 18th district and Bethlehem should remain united as it currently is. I m writing this as a concerned voter in Bethlehem.
