January 10, 2022 To The Honorable Pennsylvania Legislative Reapportionment Commission: I write today in my capacity as Board President of the East Falls Development Corporation (EFDC), currently located in the 194th legislative district. As a nonprofit Community Development Corporation - focused on neighborhood-driven economic development that benefits all of our neighbors, small businesses, and institutions - our Board and staff work with our elected officials at each level of government. Accordingly, we have followed the current redistricting process at the state level. We are reaching out to inform the panel of our positive working relationship with State Representative DeLissio. Her office has been consistently responsive to our concerns, and in 2021 alone she helped us to secure a significant Department of Community and Economic Development grant; these funds will allow EFDC to fulfill one of our top strategic priorities as an organization. Further, Representative DeLissio has been present at community events and meetings - whether at local zoning meetings, or at holiday gatherings. Her longstanding relationships throughout the East Falls neighborhood are evident at each meeting and event - as is her understanding of our concerns.
