Keep Lemoyne as it is

I am writing in regard to the change in the state legislative district boundaries as it impacts Lemoyne Borough, Cumberland County in which I reside. I am not in favor of the change for a number of reasons: 1) I can’t see how it is appropriate as it breaks up a number of school districts in the area. The history of our school districts is positive as they’re currently configured. It also goes against virtually all the other geographic affiliations such as such as parks and recreation alliances, libraries, fire company/first responders. It begs the question on its impact on how these services would then also have to change. It also splits the 87th and 88th Districts. Your map makes an entire new district in Cumberland County. 2) The inclusion of Lemoyne in Cumberland County with Dauphin County will cause confusion. It maybe another barrier for residents to locate their elected officials as we aren’t used to being a part of Dauphin County. Where would the district office be? It could possibly be in a new county to those of us in Cumberland County. If I-83 becomes a toll road, it means that it might cost us to pay to visit the new office. If the decision is to have an office in both counties, that would be an extra expense. 3) Cumberland County shouldn’t lose a House district when its population grew the fastest of any county in the state. I also have issue with the statewide map changes: 1) 11 Republican seats are eliminated without a vote being taken 2) 6 districts have 2 Republican members running against each other which automatically eliminates 6 Republican seats, likewise 1 Democrat district has 2 Democrats running against each other 3) 5 districts have a Republican running against a Democrat in a Democrat-favored district potentially eliminating 5 Republican seats Thank you for your kind reconsideration of making a change to Lemoyne Borough.
