Happy with Centre Co. House Lines
Hello! I am school board member with State College Area School District. I am writing to uplift the House district lines proposed. On a personal note: I was previously in house district 81, which included a small slice of the State College Area School District and then a lot of area outside of Centre Co. The wide range of concerns and needs within the district made it difficult for us all to be represented by Rep. Irvin. In general: I really appreciate that the new lines create a total of 3 state house districts within Centre Co (whereas before there were 4) and two of those districts are entirely contained within Centre Co (whereas before there was only 1). We are a county that has needs rather different from our neighboring counties and it makes sense for us to be represented as a whole rather than divided up into many different districts. (I think both our county and surrounding counties deserve dedicated representation that doesn't require representatives to learn such a huge variety of needs.) Also, the SCASD school districts interests will be better heard and served by being consolidated into two representatives rather than 3.
