As a school director in the West Perry SD and a part of the 86th district It is important to keep the 86th district in the region of the Cumberland- Perry geographical area instead of pushing to the Juniata county region. We have much interaction with Cumberland County in all aspects of government cooperation and need a representative to advocate for us in a unified voice for mental health issues, over reaching physical health issues since many of our services are in the Cumberland County area and mostly no interaction with Juniata County, as well as financial issues that are unique to the Cumberland-Perry and not unique to Juniata County., Our Technical school affiliation is connected to Cumberland County, Adams Count y, and York County schools that have the same objectives and job skills needed in the four county region. Nothing in Juniata County is considered when making decisions about curriculum or program study. the Cumberland Perry pay scales differ greatly to Juniata County and and while negotiating salaries with unions, no reference is made to Juniata schools. The focus is schools in our footprint or services. Our Intermediate Unit is Capital Area IU #15 which consist mostly of Cumberland County school district all of the Perry County school districts, some of Dauphin county and some of York County We expect and appreciate any input our local representatives advocate for us on education issues at the state level. We do not talk to or solicit input from Juniata County schools. They are in their own IU to advocate for them. It is imperative that the focus stay within the geographical footprint of the 86th district being a Cumberland County-Perry County footprint . Thank you for your time to read my comments and consider the impact of splitting the 86th district to include Juniata County and exclude Cumberland County.
