Minimum divisions in the city of Pittsburgh

> The proposed State Senate map needlessly divides the city into 3 State Senate districts instead of 2 (City Population is 302K while a state senate district is 250-260K). This goes against the State Constitution for minimal number of municipal divisions. > The Northern Suburbs have little in common with the City of Pittsburgh > The school districts like Avonworth, Northgate, and Shaler are all in the same sports leagues and there is a much bigger community of interest in combining these with other Northern suburbs > The 42nd District should be more compact and include more of the city and can stay entirely below the Ohio and Allegheny rivers except for parts of the City of Pittsburgh > This creates a highly competitive, true toss-up district (won by Biden in 2020 and Trump in 2016 by narrow margins) that gives all voters a better voice including independents > Amanda Holt State Senate Map: Exception 2 City of Pittsburgh Division map also unifies the Cornell School District by moving Neville Island into the 37th District.
