LEAVE HELLERTOWN IN THE 136th DISTRICT

• Hellertown’s fifty years of being a community in the 136th District, ever since the state Constitution created single member districts for the state House. • Its association with the other municipalities that make up the 136th District (such as Freemansburg, Easton, etc.) and that they have established a “community of interest” with. • The fact that putting Hellertown in the 131st District (as was proposed in the preliminary plan) would put it in a Lehigh County and Montgomery County based district that Hellertown has little if any association with. In fact, Hellertown would be at the extreme eastern fringe of the 131st District that barely penetrates into Northampton County. • Bob’s connection and active participation in the community life of Hellertown (monthly office hours in Borough Hall, attending and participating in community events, helping to secure grant money for worthy community projects, etc.). Feel free to raise other points that make the case for keeping Hellertown in the 136th and to share with your neighbors and colleagues. We believe our 50 years as a component part of the 136th District, “community of interest” to the other municipalities comprising the 136th, the fact that the 131st is a Montgomery and Lehigh County based district with little association to Hellertown, and Representative Freeman's long record of working with elected and community leaders in Hellertown, securing grant funding for worthy community projects, involvement in community events, and monthly office hours in Borough Hall are all strong points.
