Please Include East Caln in H 155 and Caln in H 74

PA proposed House of Representatives Redistricting Over the last 45 years I have taught in the Coatesville, Downingtown and West Chester School districts. Reviewing the LRC proposed 155th House map demonstrates lack of understanding the area where I reside, Uwchlan township. The proposed map puts Caln Township in the 155th, but EAST Caln in the 167th. These arbitrary lines ignore school district boundaries and cultural/social institutions that unify the residents of these areas. East Caln would be much more logically placed in the 155th district. Caln, however, is largely in the Coatesville school district. The social and cultural organizations are focused to the west (74th PA House) and would be a much more logical division of our area to draw Caln into the 74th. Overall, the districts in the northern and western areas are underpopulated.. each voter therefore has greater weight in elections than does mine, as suburban and urban districts are overpopulated. Please address these inequities, also considering the growth patterns that are likely to accelerate in the next decade before the 2030 census mandated new maps are created. With the current lines, the inequities in district populations will grow and reduce fair representation. Please consider local culture and patterns of services and organizations. The minor changes of Caln to the 74th and East Caln to the 155thwill maintain the integrity of the Downingtown Area School District and the Lionville Youth Association. Both serve to unify our area and would be disserved by the proposed map.
