Centre County and the Proposed Reapportionment Map

Centre County and the Proposed Reapportionment Maps I am happy with the Pennsylvania House map that seems to give more voice to the densely populated Centre region of urban and suburban/exurban voters. However, the state Senate map is clearly gerrymandered to wipe out any chance of representation for Democrats. My district, District 35, has been shifted west with little concern for geography. It does not follow the transportation lines of I-80 or I-99 or State route 322 or 220, the roads which carry traffic to and from the Centre region. The rural populations around Curwensville, Coalport, Ebensburg, and Portage have little in common with Penn State University or the creative entrepreneurs making use of its resources. It would make more sense to include in District 35 Altoona, with its own PSU campus; Bellefonte, which is the Centre County seat; and Centre Hall, where the Grange Fair hosts people from all over the county. Please consider the voice of the people rather than the power of the Republican Party. Marion Schwartz from Ferguson Township.
