PA Horsham Redistricting
I am a resident of Horsham Township and I object to the proposed reconfiguration of State House District 151. Horsham should not be divided. The residents of Horsham Township need unified representation into the future. The proposed redistricting that divides Horsham will be detrimental for several reasons. First, the Constitution of PA mandates that legislative districts should keep communities, like Horsham, intact. Secondly, the proposed redistricting will have an adverse effect on maintaining the water quality and the health of the residents of Horsham and the surrounding area. A remnant from the Willow Grove Naval Air Station is the widespread contamination of the ground water which is the source of the community’s water supply. Our present representative from District 151 has been working effectively for several years and with different government agencies on the resolution of this problem. From my husband’s professional engineering experience, we expect that this problem’s resolution will continue for years. Going into the future, Horsham must remain unified and in a single legislative district in order to be strongly represented to deal with this water issue and other legislative matters.
