Upper Mt. Bethel and Portland Borough
This is in regards to splitting up the Bangor School District into three separate legislative districts. The entire school district/community should be represented by one single congressman or congresswoman. It would be a conflict of interest to have three different house representatives all representing the constituents of the separate areas of our school district. Plus, the entire school district lies within the boundaries of Northampton County. Why would Upper Mt Bethel Township and Portland Borough <potentially> belong to a district reporting to the Lower West End of Monroe County? So many important political topics affect our school district. We need to be represented by one congress person. Let's do something that makes sense and leave the entire Bangor School District constituents in the same district! Our community is made up of small boroughs and townships, all residing in Northampton County. Don't split up our community, and joint interests. We need to have representation that has one powerful voice in Harrisburg, not splitting our voices into three, much smaller, weaker whispers, for topics that could mean so much to our school district and childrens' educational needs. Our kids are too important to take this away from us because of some remapping idea.
