My feedback on redistricting
I am writing today to express my concern that the way the preliminary PA maps if approved will separate the adjacent communities of Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill. Currently they are in one district. I implore the map be redrawn to reflect the way it has been which is to keep Mt. Airy intact with Chestnut Hill. We are culturally and geographically congruous neighborhoods and the map should reflect that. I urge that the map be updated to reflect the way these neighborhoods operate. I live in E. Mt. Airy and most of my everyday interactions, shopping, and affiliations are with fellow neighbors in Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill which is upper NW Philadelphia. My husband and I have lived and owned 2 different houses in Mt. Airy since we moved here in 1988. We know it well. I have done historical research in these neighborhoods. I again urge you to choose what is fair and that is to keeping these culturally and geographically congruous neighborhoods in the same district as they have been before this preliminary map was drawn.
