Disagree with redistricting of House District 33
Legislative Reapportionment Commission, I am writing to let my thoughts be known on the new lines for redistricting in district 33. I strongly disagree with the proposed new lines. I feel that the current district 33 lines should remain the same. If anything, the remaining portion of Harrison Township should be added to the district so as not to have that township split with two different representatives. Splitting communities and school districts are not good for any anyone! The way the lines are now, it enables the ‘forgotten parts’ of both Allegheny County and Westmoreland County, (New Kensington and Arnold), to have the proper representation that they deserve. Adding the towns such as Etna, Aspinwall, Blawnox, Sharpsburg and Fox Chapel will only further disenfranchise those communities currently in district 33 and also add and split more school districts. Representative Carrie Lewis DelRosso has built solid relationships in the short time she has been in office. She has been a constant presence and has shown her genuine concern for the people and the communities not only with her words but with her actions. Numerous people from the opposite party have been very vocal in their support of her and approving of what she is doing in these communities. By changing the current lines, you are not thinking of the people, just parties. The citizens of the current district 33 deserve better and they want and need Rep. Lewis DelRosso to continue to represent them. I am asking you to KEEP THE CURRENT DISTRICT 33 LINES!
