Stop The Gerrymandering
One of the benefits of living in Bucks County for the past 38 years has been the voting record of our county. History shows that voters here have been willing to carefully consider the current issues and are capable of putting aside political affiliation to vote for what they feel is in the best interest of their community. With that in mind, it is very disappointing to learn of the proposed redistricting that would diminish competitiveness in certain districts. Competition is healthy to keep our elected officials accountable to their constituents. Not every issue should come down to Republican or Democrat. It’s frustrating enough to voters from both parties, and especially the independent voters, to have a candidate win a close election only to have them go to Harrisburg and vote solely along party lines. This proposed gerrymandering would only further discourage many voters. Government service should not be about partisan politics. Stop worrying about wins and losses and get back to serving the residents of Pennsylvania.
