Against the Redistricting of Etna, PA
I am the Executive Director of the Millvale Community Library, and I believe that the current plan for redistricting Etna is problematic for many reasons. 1. Etna will be in a different district than every other municipality in the Shaler Area School District 2. Etna would no longer be in the same district as Millvale. This is a huge issue as the two boroughs are in the process of creating a shared library system to build a community library in Etna. The Millvale Community Library provides library services to Etna residents, and is working on growing their footprint in the neighboring community. 3. Etna is a small urbanized community. Their voice is louder when paired with similar communities like Millvale and Sharpsburg. In fact the three boroughs collaborate on many things, including the Triboro Ecodistrict! Please consider these factors before removing Etna from PA District 21!!!
