More precincts should be split
There should be a balance between the criteria of compactness, population equivalence, and keeping precincts/wards intact. None of the three criteria should outweigh the other two. But in the current proposed LRC maps, keeping precincts/wards intact seems has a higher priority over compactness and population equivalence. So the proposed maps are not compact enough and the population deviation is too high. The 2011 state senate and house maps each had 86 split precincts, but the LRC proposed house map has just one, and the proposed senate map has just 10. Please split precincts as necessary to achieve more compactness and population equivalence.
