Redistricting of Bucks County
I believe the proposed LRC map needs to be re-done. Currently I live within the 178th legislative district which includes our entire community, township, school district, or municipalities. The proposed map would move me to the 142nd legislative district which would now only represent PART of my community as well as a WHOLE different community which has totally different needs than my own. State Representatives need to understand their constituents based on the whole community not be fractured into pieces based on population. How much do I believe a State Representative, who represents a whole community, really want to address my needs when he has to work with another State Representative in a totally different community. I believe legislative district maps should represent whole communities as much as possible. Several different maps have been proposed that would keep 178th intact and within the constitutional standards and one of those needs to be implemented.
