District 200 / Proposed 194 - NW Philadelphia
The proposed redistricting would link Chestnut Hill with Roxborough (divided geographically by the Wissahickon) rather than keep Chestnut Hill linked with Mt. Airy, the closer and contiguous neighbor. Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy share community services like schools, churches, playgrounds, and gathering spaces; and public resources like police, fire and hospital. Should this proposal proceed, the demographics of our long-standing racially integrated district will change dramatically from 64% Black to 14% and 26% White to 76%.
