Preserving unified neighborhood

Chestnut Hill and Mt Airy have significant interdependencies and common needs with respect to population density, traffic and transportation, safety, public amenities, and historic preservation. Roxborough and Chestnut Hill have little of the same. The planning needs and quality of life solutions in Roxborough, given the distinctly different topography and history and architecture in Roxborough, bear almost no resemblance to those of the neighborhoods located across the Wissahickon Gorge. An enormous urban parkland splits Roxborough from Chestnut Hill and Mt Airy - there are almost no through-routes between the two areas.
