Keep Northampton as one district
I oppose the redistricting that has been proposed. It slices up contiguous areas such as Northhampton, where I live, to create politically homogeneous districts that will be “safe” for partisan politicians. Such gerrymandering does NOT serve the people in these new districts. Instead of having a more direct voice concerning very local concerns, the people will only have a true voice if they happen to be in the dominant party of the new district. Opposing voices will have no strength and not be heard. Gerrymandering to promote politically safe districts is one of the main reasons for the anger and divisiveness and radical extremes we witness in government today. True dialog and consensus building is impossible when politicians are only beholden to one party. Please, for the good of Pennsylvania, reject the gerrymandering proposed by the new redistricting plan.
