I support Bucks County Map 1-B and the retention of the composition of the 178th, without change. The population has been stable, so there is no impetus driving redistricting. Also, the political distribution is close to even, which means that politicians must pay attention to the voters. "Safe" seats mean that the politicians can pay more attention to party loyalty than to the constituents' interests and desires. Finally, New Hope and Solebury have more in common with Upper Makefield, which also abuts the Delaware River, that they do with Buckingham and Doylestown, which do not. There is simply no compelling reason to change the composition of the 178th District or to create "safe" districts.
