Don't Move Upper Chichester to 159th District

Hello, I am a resident of Upper Chichester Township, part of the current 160th state house district, and I am opposed to the current proposal of removing Upper Chichester from this district. As a resident of Upper Chichester for over 60 years, I oppose this version of the redistricting map for the reasons listed below. 1. This new version of the map does not fairly represent the make up of our community. The new boundaries place the citizens of Upper Chichester in a drastically different demographical area than our current district. While you seem to be lumping Upper Chichester in with all of the Chichester School district and the other areas currently in the 159th district, Upper Chichester is not the same type of community as the others. We are more aligned with the other communities in the 160th district., both economically and statistically. 2. Upper Chichester is nothing like Chester or the other townships and communities currently in the 159th district. We have commissioners that govern our township, not a mayor or town council. Our budget process is vastly different; we have vastly different schools, and we have vastly different crime. We have a low crime rate in our town, much lower than these towns in the 159th that we are being drawn in with. For this reason myself and many other residents have no desire to go to these other areas in the 159th district to travel or spend any time there. 3. Placing Upper Chichester in the 159th district would result in a lack of critical representation that we the residents of Upper Chichester expect. We have successfully elected representatives of the 160th district to represent us and we deserve to remain in the 160th district. These representatives have helped our community with improvements and assistance when needed. Moving Upper Chichester to the 159th district would be a huge detriment to this township. I believe that it is important to be fairly represented, placing our town in the 159th would result in unfair representation and under serve our community. I ask that you reconsider the current proposed map, please keep Upper Chichester Township in the 160th state house district. . Susan Davis, Upper Chichester Township
