Keep the Slate Belt Together
I am a 5th generation resident (and taxpayer) of Bangor in the Slate Belt of Northampton County. (My granddaughter is 7th generation). We know what’s best for our area. Our voices should be heard. I am a resident of the 137th legislative district and would like to add that Rep. Emrick has provided excellent representation in Harrisburg on our behalf. Part of the 137th district includes Upper Mount Bethel Township and Portland Borough. These areas belong within the Slate Belt. The preliminary map moved these two Slate Belt communities to a neighboring county. Bangor Area School District should not be split between two house seats that are in two different counties. I speak for many residents that feel the same. Our community must stay intact. Please take our comments into consideration and please DO NOT approve this map. Thank you!
