People not Politicians to Lead Redistricting
First, I am writing to acknowledge the Chair for putting people first in this process, not the politicians currently in office, who have much to gain but much to lose if these maps are changed to indeed reflect the reality of PA communities. I am urging the LRC to continue its important work towards fairer maps-now more than ever we must have maps that reflect the reality of our communities. One need not look for long to see how gerrymandered these current maps are; one must not be fully educated on the political process to understand they must be fixed if the needs of our community members are to be truly represented in our government. We all know better and it's time to return to good government redistricting principles: constitutionality, proportionality, diversity of representation. Thank you
