Let independents and experts draw maps
We are confronting a crisis in our state and our country and we risk losing what has been built over two hundred plus years... an example to the world of a functioning democracy. Please let's focus our gaze and our planning and efforts on the future and not on the next election or two. Why would we allow biased people run the process of determining voting districts? Regardless of party -- neither can be trusted not to skew the districts in their favor -- we need experts that are as independent as possible to draw voting district maps. This need not be rocket science. Young students have successfully drawn maps that meet the minimal requirements of unbiased districts. Clearly, adult experts can do this job. We have reached the point where the voting public has lost faith in our institutions and our electeds. This may serve the objectives of some of those in office in the short term but long term in can not work for us. Apathy will unravel our society and no ideology will survive that. Please stop the posturing and delaying and "clever legal tricks" and get on with drawing fair maps for our kids and their kids sakes. Respectfully, Brent Groce 325 S. 25th St. Phila, PA 19103
