Request to reconsider changes to 116th district
My name is Jeffrey L. Cusat and I'm the mayor of the city of Hazleton. Hazleton is located in the 116th legislative district and I write to you to express opposition to the proposed changes to the districts boundaries. The Greater Hazleton Area is bounded together by many common interests. These interests include social, cultural, economic and educational associations. I'm certain that the proposed changes will only convolute an area that currently interacts so closely with neighboring communities and make it burdensome to maintain the sturdy connections the community enjoys. I therefore steadfastly request that the committee withdraw preliminary approval of the reapportionment plan for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives 116th Legislative District and that it remains in its existing state.
